Squirrel Help Needed!?

Could you answer these questions:

What has happened to the population of red squirrels?

Where are red squirrels still found today?

What are the factors that have contributed to the fall in numbers of the red squirrel and the rise in numbers of grey squirrel?

Even if you don't know the answers to all of them could you answer the ones you know please.Squirrel Help Needed!?
Here in Scotland...

The numbers have dropped by alot.

Most reds found today are in some sort of reserve, not so many left in the wild.

The Grey is the cause, also the destruction of their habitat. Grey squirrels ate alot of the food they needed, as they were a bit larger than red ones.Squirrel Help Needed!?
Red squirrels are mostly found in the Western U.S. now. Their population has been regulated by natural selection...available territory, right food, more predators(man included), etc.

I was out West for a time...I had to ask where the grey squirrels were, and got questioning looks.

Grey squirrels have not overcome, in any way, the population of red squirrels in the Western U.S.
Sounds like a job for Super Squirrel
Yes they are the cause of red decline, shame as the red are much cuter and they aren't American. Thetford forest have some left but I have only spotted a couple there as I think the yanks are rife there too its like a disease but I love watching them fall out of trees.
