Squirrels eating pumpkins?

I want to grow some giant pumpkins this year...But I have so many squirrels in my yard. The'll eat my plant. Do you have any suggestions on keeping them off my pumpkins? Also, If you can give me some tips on growing giant pumpkins, that would be cool. Help!Squirrels eating pumpkins?
- you should ask your local gardeners %26amp; those that sell garden plants ~ as they usually are well knowledge on the local environment ~ air, soil, weather %26amp; etc of your area.

- I've got some tips tried %26amp; tested to keep rodents lk rabbits, rats, squirrels off plants. Sprinkle pepper or dried chilies or even cumin powder around. The pepper can be ground pepper or just powder form around the plant %26amp; rub it a bit on the stem %26amp; the fruit itself. You don't have to shower it too much but just enough around the plant %26amp; fruit itself. U don't hv to do it daily but if it's windy/rained thn. put some more till it goes off.

Rodents are usually sensitive towards the smell %26amp; don't lk spicy strong smell lk tht.

Even Martha Steward uses this method.

- You can also wrap the fruit up wth some plastic wth mini punched hole for ventilation purposes.

Wish u luck!Squirrels eating pumpkins?
Spray your plants with Aloe-Vera liquid.
