A squirrel at the park was getting close to me, and had it's tail going over it's head...I wanted to pet it. But i didn't want it to bite me, what does it mean when the do put their tails over their heads???Strange Squirrel Behaviors?
Squirrels are super-great animals. Wonderful little creatures.
There are many species of Squirrels throughout the world. Some species carry their beautiful tails up arched over their heads. This behavior does not indicate it is sick or anything like that.
Feeding Squirrels is fun. Just make sure your giving them food that's good for them, like unsalted nuts, berries, fruit, and seeds. If one approaches you close it's because he's getting more tame by all the people that are feeding him. He will not bite you unless you do something to frighten him. Put some nuts on the palm of your hand and offer him those with your hand wide open. If he's tame enough, he'll take the food off your palm. I doubt he'll ever be tame enough for you to pet though.Strange Squirrel Behaviors?
I live in the mountains of California. As such I see ALOT of squirrels, some acting pretty strangely. Mostly they are just sitting in the middle of the road looking stupidly at on coming cars, but I have been walking and some take an interest in me. Don't know why, but some will not run until you are really close. Now, one in the park is gonna be much more used to people than those up here. Chances are it was hungry. It has probably has people feeding it and wanted some from you.
ummm yea idk but it mite've had rabies....i wouldnt of taken the chance. look it up on national or something. thats interesting though
