Okay I used to work at Barnes and Noble (or a store just like it). My boss asked me about my lawn and I mention that there had been a recent infestation of squirrels. He seemed very troubled by this, visibly sweating, ect. He said he wasn't so sure about my work ethic anymore. Two hours later, he let me go. WHAT CAN I DO?!?!Fired for squirrel-related purposes?
The question about the lawn might have been a lead in question. The sweating might have been because he knew he was going to let you go and was not comfortable with it. The squirrels probably didn't have anything to do with the lay-off. I think you're reading into things. As far as doing anything you can go back to him, ask him what it was that made you lose your job and ask him if has any suggestions for you to do better in your next job.
